We're Not Your Typical Christian Forum

Most forums on the internet today are interested in getting bigger and bigger. On the internet, bigger tends to be better. That's not really our focus. What we strive to do is to provide a place where small groups of people can interact with one another and with the other groups of people on the forum. While we provide an open board where all members can interact, we also specialize in offering smaller, private forums that are suitable to any small group's needs. No forum is too small or specialized for us.

If you surf our board without signing up, you won't see a lot. That's because we have made most of the board private to members only. This provides a safe environment where people can explore difficult questions without the entire internet community peeking in. So, come on in and have a look around. You might just like what you see.

Who We Are

We're a couple of Lutherans from the Midwest. But that doesn't begin to tell the whole story. While our faith is Lutheran, our vision is much broader than that. Our goal is to create a Christian forum that is friendly to seekers of all kinds. Because of this, you will find topics that you don't see on other Christian sites. Peoples' exploration of faith is messy, so we allow for that. Everyone's experience of God is unique to them, so we don't try to impose our own views on folks. In fact, proselytization on the main boards isn't even allowed. We figure nobody needs to have things shoved in their faces.

Who We Aren't

We aren't people who judge others' beliefs or lifestyles. Those things are between God and the person. We have enough trouble minding our own lives without fussing about in others' lives.

We aren't the sort of people who will stand by and let somebody get beaten down. Abusive behavior absolutely isn't tolerated. People who repeated engage in that sort of behavior are likely to find themselves banned. And people who follow others to this forum to cause problems will likely endure the same fate.

Who Is Likely to Be Comfortable Here

It is our fervent hope that seekers of all kinds will find a home here. If something is making a member uncomfortable, we want to know. Ron and Belinda are always available via PM to talk to members.

Moderate and liberal Christians are likely to be very comfortable here, too. We strongly encourage you to join up with us and make this a place of profound Christian witness in the style of Jesus Christ himself. He never told people they had to become perfect or super-smart Christians before they could follow him. He bade them only to come. We extend the same invitation to all who would like to join us in this wonderful experiment.

Who is Likely to Uncomfortable Here

First, let us say that everyone is welcome here. We will turn away nobody, regardless of their faith (or lack of it), creed, nationality or anything else. We provide this section as a fair warning to those who might not be prepared for the sort of ministry that we do.

Very conservative Christians will find that they are regularly pushed outside their comfort zones. A lot of the topics and people are going to be challenging. We consider this to be a good thing rather than a bad thing. While we, ourselves, are rather conservative, we enjoy working outside our comfort zones. If you don't enjoy it, you may not be such a good fit for the forum.

Because of the topics, we also recommend that children not sign onto the forum. Many of the topics are not suitable for children or could prove confusing to them. Because of this, if we find somebody we suspect to be under the age of 13, we will seek some sort of parental consent before allowing them to continue to post and view the forum.

Good news, though! We have two sister forums at www.films-forums.com and www.thesonscafe.com. These are geared towards mainstream Christianity and are child-friendly, albeit thesonscafe is much more oriented towards fun and games, where as films leads more towards edification. If things here prove a bit too intense, please have a look over at those forums. They are geared towards Christian fun, fellowship, and edification.
