You all have repeatedly given assurances that CFA would be made and kept a safe place and that those with a history of stalking and harassing behaviors would NOT be permitted here -- PERIOD.

There bes only a small handful of these but we all know who they bes, all of us watched the crap happen on CF. And like classic abusers, they hug with one hand so they can punch with the other. One of them pretending to be a "friend" for weeks on end just so that they could use their victim as a dumping ground for all their whining and try to emotionally blackmail them into feeling guilty if they did not empty their bank account to help them and then despite WEEKS of their victim listening to their negative and faith-destroying blather and constantly seeking to encourage them and lift them up not to mention help them in practical ways, despite constantly being pushed and pushed and pushed for MORE MORE MORE, said victim gets accused of being "disloyal" because they won't turn against someone else on said abuser's demand.
Well now we have another showing up recently pretending to be "conciliatory" merely as a platform for spewing the same vacuous garbage and filth lies they have spewed all along. How long will THAT crap be permitted to wank in public and get its jollies at others' expense??? At the expense of those who have been members here from the beginning??

Moriah hereby gives notice that if this bes permitted to continue, and these sort of persons will not be kept out of CFA so it can be a safe place, then it has no other choice but to leave. Maybe that bes what you all want. It doesn't freaking know anymore. All it knows bes that it bes tired of feeling hurt, abused, neglected, rejected, kicked around and generally treated like @#$%& alla times from people who made it believe they (a) cared and (b) meant what they said. If the basic bottom line of safety from stalkers and harassers does not matter here any more, then clearly it bes time to leave.

At the very least, something known as COMMUNICATION would be appreciated.

While we noodle out the PRACTICAL LIVING STYLES section (re thread on barter, frugal living, etc.) how about we include a subforum under that same section for healthy living concerns? These can include diet, low-cal and low-fat recipes, tips for herbal and home remedies, exercise instructions and tips, and a support group for those who want to improve their lifestyle by eating healthier and exercising regularly. The focus should be on improving health, not merely losing weight, though having a bit of fun with weight loss stuff would be OK too, maybe have a competition. ;) Or set goals -- e.g. "want to lose 3 inches from my waist and 4" from my buttocks by December" or whatever -- or exercise goals like "want to go from just fast-walking to being able to comfortably run a mile in 6 weeks" and support and motivate one another ...

As the costs of things keep going up and up, and more and more folks are ending up with reduced benefits, hours, or even loosing their jobs, I see a real need for a frugal living resource, and possibly bartering too. Granted, such forums and websites do exist.... but I think ours can be unique for a couple reasons. First, as a Chrisitan community, while we can't share as given, being we are virtual, we can share a ton of knowledge.... and the knowledge of how to cook food for a family of 4 for $200 a month, is likely a lot more beneficial than giving $200 to a family in need, only to find out the following week they need $200 more, and sadly, we wont have another $200 available until another month passes. Secondly, I'd like to emphasize bridging the gap between the online world and 3D.... and getting food on someones table is certainly very much such a bridge.

Bartering ties into this too, although I am not sure how exactly we could do such.

What do folks think?

This should be a general forum not tied to any specific "recovery" topic, and thus open to everyone to share their thoughts and insights in a general sense.

The section could include anything from serious articles about mental health itself or personal essays mulling over thoughts on the subject, to more spiritual things like the benefits of prayer on mental wellness or anecdotal uplifting things encouraging the building of a positive spirit or exercising compassion toward emotional suffering. Just anything in this general arena which might be of interest to the whole CFA community.

... or "Ethics and Morality at the Individual Level" ... or "Ethics and Morality where the Rubber meets the Road" ... something like that ...

what it proposes bes as follows: that we start an Ethics & Morality section under Religious Discussion, for the discussion of personal ethical and moral issues and dilemmas. This would NOT be for debating or hashing out socio-political crap -- e.g., no debates on war or abortion or capital punishment or the like -- but if someone bes stuck in a situation and considering an abortion, for example, it would be fine for them to post their own wrestling over the moral and ethical dilemmas they bes facing personally with that. The point would be to keep it personal and real, not abstract and debate-inciting. The focus would kind of be more like along the lines of "Hey, got this issue going on about X, Y, Z ... how do you all as Christians handle this when it comes up for you?" type of stuff -- a place for ppls to be supportive of one another and guiding with gentle instruction and encouragement, not laying down the smack or anything heavy handed, and definitely none of that "you better do X this way or you bes going to hell" crap.

An example might be something like "how do you reconcile having an 'uncharitable' opinion toward someone if you feel it bes wrong to do so? how do you reconcile being honest about how you feel with the mandate to treat ppls with love?" etc.... that type of question gave this one the idea for that kind of section.

Theres one on CF, however due to the very public nature and the climate of secrecy on staff, it would not be an approriate place for people to deal with the darker aspects of the industry, also due to the fact that there are some very young ones on the CF membership lists. It could be dealt with in Beth Miqlat, howevever there are some young members in there

I suggest Beth Shean, because was chatting to one of the people at the respite service about how they chose the name, Beth Shean was a place that people could go who may have comitted a murder or some other crime and be safe from being apprehended. I think it would be apt for former sex workers due to the nature of the industry and the fact that it is illegal in many places

Hi, I don't know what would be the name of a forum, nor fully grasp how the site will be, but I'll give you the example of a question I'd like to ask, and maybe that will help.

In the end God creates a new heaven and new earth. I understand why a new earth; why a new heaven?

Hope that helps..

in general am fairly intererested in the New Jerusualem vs the new heaven as well.

When I first came here way back, my assumption from reading (now I'm fairly clear was wrong tho) is that this would be a place where people would learn, or have a place of deeper learning (bible study) as such is not on cf, though may be in some places, none that I am familiar with.

Somehow that was what I understood. Now I know different as to main focus of this forum, but also see that closed and other things will be on here as well.

Thanks
