Hey Ron,

Some of the subforums apparently do not display the little notations on the front page when new posts appear. There will be new posts or new threads there but the notices (1 new) or (3 new) do not appear on the index page next to the thread and post counts like they do for other subforums.

The two Moriah has noticed having this problem bes Chit Chat Cafe and Exploratory Religious Discussion, though there might be others having this problem.

Additionally, sometimes the notice does not "clear" after visiting the section with the new posts or threads. This happens most notably in the Individual Blogs section but might be happening elsewhere as well.

Can we get this fixed? If there bes anything Moriah can do just shoot a PM letting us know what to check for in the settings or whatever.

I'm having fun with my mod powers, but if I hide the OP of a thread, it removes it from the main thread list...even for me. What if I wanted to temporarily hide a thread for some reason (cleanup, etc.) and then bring it back?

First, would love to be added to the warfare forums please..

And then also I would like to know little more, like what different kinds of private forums you have here and how I can be picked for somone that would suit me?

Thank you for a nice homepage and excellent idea with private forums as smaller groups.. :)

Any chance we could get the Beth Miqlat graphic put up on display in Beth Miqlat?
It worked on this hard and nobody ever did anything with it (as usual -- had it been anyone else you KNOW they would have made haste to get it up in the old place).
Thinking maybe right-align it to the side of the list of threads since the thread list doesn't need 100% width of the real estate there.
Let the threads float to the left & down.

Please check out this chat box application at blogoscoped.

Its an open source program, and my thought is to make some mods to it for use on here.

1. redo the background graphics with overtly Christian ones.
2. redo the avatars, or allow members to upload their own
3. Change the trivia game to Bible trivia
4. Change the quote handler from random quotes to proverbs
5. Perhaps link the databases, such that a login and avatar selection is not needed.
6. Potentially link the chat to user groups. Ie, a BeMi chat is only BeMi members, no guests. A public chat is anyone.

PGP and Moriah have volunteered to help, we likely will have others as well.

Web stuff is not in my sphere of experience, I hack things.... although I do write a lot of code, there is a vast difference between assembly code, and php, css, and html where I am quite the novice.

Thus, how do we best share our talents to make this work?

We probably do need someway to formally check sections in and out, and a way of testing as well. We could make a developers forum on here, we also have dokuwiki installed. In addition, I think it would be entirely reasonable to discuss on the software websites too.... we may find others who wish to share things we come up with, and we can learn from them as well.

I could set up a sandbox for testing, so we don't crash the production environment. Ie, a subdomain, where you folks would have ftp access, and with its own database, so as not to crash this one.

Well, the menu bar works pretty well, in firefox, but crashes and burns in IE. Its still usable somewhat, at least for the forums, but its anything but aesthetic in IE.

I need to run for a while, but will be back later today, and get this fixed. Why IE can't follow the conventions for CSS is beyond me, but then again, nothing is ever simple when it comes to microsoft browsers.
