Call to worship:
music tbd

Opening

Leader: The Lord almighty grant us a quiet night and peace at the last.
All: Amen

L: It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
R: to sing praise to your name, O Most High;

L: To herald your love in the morning,
R: Your truth at the close of the day.

Confession
The confession is said responsively, first with the lector confessing and receiving the promise of absolution from the congregation, then with the congregation confessing and receiving the promise of absolution from the lector. [In our case, one member speaks for the congregation, so as not to clutter the chat.]

L: I confess to God Almighty, before the whole company of heaven, and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have sinned in thought, word, and deed by my fault, by my own fault, by my own most grievous fault; wherefore I pray God Almighty to have mercy on me, forgive me all my sins, and bring me to everlasting life. Amen

R: The almighty and merciful Lord grant you pardon, forgiveness, and remission of all your sins. Amen

R: We confess to God Almighty, before the whole company of heaven, and to you, our brothers and sisters, that we have sinned in thought, word, and deed by our fault, by our own fault, by our own most grievous fault; wherefore we pray God Almighty to have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins, and bring us to everlasting life. Amen

L: The almighty and merciful Lord grant you pardon, forgiveness, and remission of all your sins. Amen.

Responsorial Psalm
Deuteronomy 32:26-27ab, 27cd-28, 30, 35cd-36ab
L: (39c) It is I who deal death and give life.
R: ?I would have said, ?I will make an end of them and blot out their name from men?s memories,?
Had I not feared the insolence of their enemies, feared that these foes would mistakenly boast.?
L: It is I who deal death and give life.
R: ??Our own hand won the victory; the LORD had nothing to do with it.??For they are a people devoid of reason, having no understanding.
L: It is I who deal death and give life.
R: ?How could one man rout a thousand, or two men put ten thousand to flight, Unless it was because their Rock sold them and the LORD delivered them up??
L: It is I who deal death and give life.
R: Close at hand is the day of their disaster, and their doom is rushing upon them! Surely, the LORD shall do justice for his people; on his servants he shall have pity.
L: It is I who deal death and give life.

Responsory

L: Into your hands, O Lord, I commend my spirit.
R: Into your hands I commend my spirit.

R: Into your hands I commend my spirit.

L: Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
R: Into your hands I commend my spirit.

Liturgical Prayers

L: Hear my prayer, O Lord;
R: and let my cry for help come unto thee.

L: Keep me as the apple of your eye;
R: hide me in the shadow of your wings.

L: In righteousness I shall see you;
R: when I awake, your presence will give me joy.

L: Be present, merciful God, and protect us through the hours of this night, so that we who are wearied by the changes and chances of life may find our rest in you; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

St Francis Prayer
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.

Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon;

where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope;

where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy;

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil.
[For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.]

Gospel Canticle

L: Guide us waking, O Lord, and guard us sleeping; that awake we may watch with Christ and asleep we may rest in peace.

R: Lord, now you let your servant go in peace; your word has been fulfilled. My own eyes have seen the salvation which you have prepared in the sight of ev'ry people: a light to reveal you to the nations and the glory of your people Israel.

L: Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen

Benediction

L: The almighty and merciful Lord, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, bless us and keep us.
R: Admen
